Living in History
The election is over and history has been made. Who would have thought that my generation would experience such a monumental event? I’m sure everyone can’t understand why African Americas feel about America the way we do, especially those who grew up in a time where we were not treated as equals. This election touched me in many ways, one, it showed the world that African Americans are more than the stereotypes they like to portray. We can be educated, and we are leaders. Although I know the road ahead will not be a smooth one, I have faith that this moment will set new standards for us as a whole. GOD BLESSES AMERICA!!!!

VOTE, VOTE, VOTE
This is it, heres your chance to have a voice, to be apart of History. No one cares about those who complain, but do nothing. Dont be fooled by the media, or scared by ignorance. Our future is what we make it. Make sure when you vote, it's for what you believe in, set aside non-important issues and vote for growth and change.

IT'S LAKER TIME!!!!!!!!!

The first game of the season and i must admit i was a little bored. They made such a big hype about Oden and he did nothing spectacular. Kobe really did not look like he was in it. But we won that's all that matters! I love the Bynum and Gasol mix, Bynum provides that aggressive hustle in the middle that we need and Gasol, well that soft touch and outside shooting is beautiful. The Trever and Jordan combination is also amazing. I love that Jordan worked on all his weaknesses over the summer to come back and be a better player. The true test for me will be when we play the Celtics. I saw some of their game last night and those boys are monsters with aggression on the defense. Lamar Odom will shut the haters up this season for sure!!!

Cant wait for the Lakers season to begin!!!!
So, i've been watching all the pre-season games and i must say my team is looking good. We all had confidence in Jordan Farmar, but he is really being aggressive and i love it. Everyone was hating on my BOO Lamar Odom, but we must admit that he is a great player, i know consistancy is important, but Rod has not been consistant either. Trever OMG, i am so glad that he is better. Trever and Jordan work very well together along with Lamar. So my question is, who should start and who should be the 6th man?
WILL RACE PLAY IMPORTANT PART IN ELECTION
I have two questions:
Is it ok for Whites to not vote for Barak Obama, even if they disagree with McCain. just because he is black?
It is said that most of the older generation will not vote for Obama, because
he is black.
Is it ok for Blacks to vote for Barak Obama becasue he is Black?
Although almost no one including blacks voted for Jessie Jackson, it is said
that most blacks will vote for Obama becasue of his race.
If you were to close your eyes and just listen to the issues, not playing race or age as a factor, who would be the canidate that you would vote for?

I was thinking over the weekend, what was important to me about the upcoming election. It was easy to come up with, the economy and health care. I have a best friend who is a single working mother with 3 children. She makes about 15hr, pays about $1100 for rent, and she pays all other bills. She was assisted by the govenment with food stamps and medicare. She is the only adult in the household, and they are now cutting her food stamps and medicare because they say she makes to much money. I dont understand, how did they come up with that. How after she pays all of her bills can they say she makes to much money. After bills, she dosent have enought to buy food, or even pay for health care. These are the things that middle class familys talk about at the kitchen table. She is not a single mother by choice, her kids father passed away and was very helpful when he was alive. How do they expect her and her children to survive without help. Not only are they trying to cute her assistance, she has been on the waiting list for section 8 for about 6yrs. Lets not forget, unemployment may have to denie peoples benifits, walfare may have to termenate benifits, but the CEO's of these failing companies are getting huge exit packages. Something is not right!

The View
I have been watching THE VIEW for a while, and i always thought that Elizabeth had some outlandish views. It never really was a bother because that's her opinion. I have realized though since the election she has been one sided. She can always find a reason why it's ok for McCain to do something, but not ok for Barak. I'm a democrat, but if my party does or says somehting that's not right i would acknowledge that expecially if i was on a show like the view. It is very irratating to hear her talk. Half of the Republicans don't think Palin is ready to be a leader of this Country, but not Elizabeth. McCain/Palin can do no wrong!

VP Debate
I watch the Vice Presidential debate last night, and i must say that Palin did not do a bad job. Of course the expectations overall were low, but she spoke to the "people". She did not stumble and if you know absolutely nothing then it may have sound like she knew what she was talking about. I don't think that she answered the questions in the way I , "the "People" wanted to hear. Joe Biden came across very knowledgeable about the issues. His passion regarding health care, the economy and Iraq were very strong. He made me understand the vision of the Obama/Biden ticket. More importantly he mad me feel like they understand the middle class. I also liked when he explained why John McCain is not a "maverick". Cant wait to see the next Presidential debate on Tuesday!

Britney's sex tape
I usually dont like to indulge in dumb things, but i had to make a comment on the idot photographer that is broardcasting the fact that he is selling a sex tape of him and Britney. But more importantly the Idot newscasters that made it a story. Watch news anywhere else in the world and they are not talking about Britney, Paris, or lindsey as BREAKING NEWS!

important voting information!!!!!!!!
Please advise everyone you know that they absolutely can NOTgo to the polls wearing any Obama (or whoever you are voting for)shirts, pins, hats, etc. It is AGAINST THE LAW and will be grounds to have thepolling officials to turn you away. This is considered campaigning andnoone can campaign within X amount of feet of the polls. They are banking on us being overly excited and not being aware of this long standing law that you can bet will be ENFORCED THIS YEAR!!!!!They are banking that if you are turned away, you will not go home andchange your clothes and return to the polls to vote. Please just don't wear ANY gear of any sorts to the polls! Please share this information withasmany people as you can. If you are already aware of this, please don'ttakeit as insulting your intelligence.
The Great Debate
I watched the debate on Friday, and here are my thoughts. It's seemed to me that McCain would like us to be confertable with the fact that he has experience, even though his experience lead him to agree with Bush 90% of the time. It also seems to me that he is not the most friendly guy. Although i like to look at both sides before making a decision, i cant really say a i believe McCain. Neither one of them really made me feel secure about the economy, but i will say that Obama had way more poise then the old guy. Overall i felt McCain wanted Obama to look nieve and unaware when it just seems like McCain is making room to do the same thing. I cant wait to see the Vice Presidental Debate on Thursday.
Dating
I dont know what's going on with the "singles market". I could probably write a comedy about all the men i meet on a daily basis. Here is what i think. Men are lazy now a days and it's mainly because we have stop making them work for it. There are so many women without self respect why should they waist their time. You have chicks ok with messing with a man that has a girlfriend/Wife, they are ok with the part-time affection and lovin. Some of them even find ways to justify being so damn trifling. Not to mention the down for whatever women, who can't read or spell, but marries the football and basketball players. It sucks that women of intelligence that are sexy and like to have fun have to compete with these air heads!
